With the completion and commissioning of a number of photovoltaic power stations and wind power projects, Yulin's new energy industry has entered the fast lane of development. At present, Yulin has introduced 70 new energy power station projects with a total investment of 106.23 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 10,644.5 MW.
The Outline of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Yulin City proposes to promote energy conservation and emission reduction, and vigorously develop a low-carbon economy and a circular economy. As an unconventional energy source developed and utilized on the basis of new technologies, new energy generally has the characteristics of less pollution and large reserves, which are of great significance to solving environmental pollution problems and resource depletion problems, and developing new ecological goals. Yulin is rich in wind and solar energy resources, and has unique natural conditions for developing new energy industries. Since 2012, the Yulin City government has regarded the new energy industry as a key investment promotion industry. In a series of investment promotion activities, it has introduced a large number of photovoltaic power stations and wind power projects.
According to reports, among the 70 new energy power station projects introduced in Yulin City, 29 are photovoltaic power station projects with a total investment of 71.1 billion yuan and funds in place of 2.04 billion yuan. Four projects have been completed and put into operation, and four projects are under construction. Other projects are undergoing preliminary work. After all photovoltaic power stations are completed, their site layout will be transferred from industrial parks to deserts, semi-deserts and coal mining goaf subsidence areas outside the park, and from Dingbian and Jingbian in the west to Hengshan in the central and northern regions. The 400-kilometer photovoltaic industrial belt along the Great Wall extended by Yuyang, Shenmu and Fugu will have a total installed capacity of 6505 MW. Dingbian County and Jingbian County in Yulin City are rich in wind energy resources and have the conditions to develop and build large-scale wind farms. At present, 41 wind power projects have been introduced with a total investment of 35.13 billion yuan and 8.68 billion yuan of funds in place.
